Step 2: How do I renew my Smog Check Station License?

To apply for a renewal or your Smog station license, simply follow these 3 steps:

1. Fill out the renewal reminder that BAR Licensing mails to you. Mail it to the address listed on the reminder. If you do not receive your courtesy notice, you can write a short letter, including your contact information and license number, or make a copy of your license.
2. Include a check or money order for the renewal fee. The fee for renewing your Smog Check Station License is $100.
3. Mail your fee and renewal request to the address listed below:

West Sacramento, CA 95789-9001

Warning: Your renewal request and fees must be submitted to the Department of Consumer Affairs for processing. Submission of insufficient fees will result in the delay of renewing your license.
