HOW TO OBTAIN BAR-REQUIRED SIGNS AND SIGN SPECIFICATIONS

REGISTRANTS AND LICENSEES:
Automotive repair dealers may obtain required signs from any sign company that can produce a sign that complies with the applicable regulatory specifications and requirements. You may wish to contact several sign companies in your area for comparison. Please consult your local telephone directory listings for sign manufacturers and distributors.
SIGN MANUFACTURERS:
Sign manufacturers may obtain the graphic for the Great Seal of the State of California from the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Office of Public Affairs. Please contact:

Sign specifications are contained in BAR’s regulations (Division 33 of Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations) at the California Office of Administrative Law, Westlaw website. To navigate on that website for each regulation, you may follow the instructions below:
  1. Click on this link to go to BAR’s regulations.
  2. This will take you to the Westlaw website. Now click on the plus sign (+) to the left of Title 16.
  3. Click on Division 33, Bureau of Automotive Repair
  4. Click on the Article and section number for the information you wish to display. See below for this information. In other words, for Automotive Repair Sign Specifications you will click first at Article 6 and then at s3351.4 to display the information on the website).
